Self Care or Bust

The One Makeup Product I Swear By (And I Don’t Even Wear Makeup)

Let me get this out of the way: I don’t wear makeup. Not because I have anything against it- I just don’t have the skills. I’ve never been a girly-girl and I have zero clue to what I’m doing. I don’t know how to contour, blend or bake (unless we’re talking cookies). I’m the type who walks past the makeup aisle like it’s written in another language.

But, you should still hear me out on this one. Because when someone like me, who doesn’t do makeup, finds a product that’s actually easy, foolproof, and makes a noticeable difference, you know it’s the real deal. I may not have a full glam squad, but I do know what works for a busy, tired, real-life face.

Physicians Formula Pressed Powder – the only makeup item I actually use and love. It’s light, easy, and makes me look like I tried (when I totally didn’t). It evens out my skin, tones down the shine, and gives me that “put together but still natural” look in under 10 seconds.

The compact comes with one of those little round sponge pads, toss it. Instead, use a kabuki brush (no Amazon link, I purchased mine at Target for $7), and if you’ve never tried one, you’re missing out. Kabuki brushes are short, round, and super dense- perfect for buffing powder into your skin without overdoing it. They give you an even, airbrushed finish and make your makeup look way more natural. It’s the busy girl’s best friend.

And best of all? Physicians Formula won’t break the bank. It gives you that quality, sensitive-skin-safe formula without the designer markup. No $60 powder compact necessary, this one does the job beautifully and won’t make your wallet cry.

So yeah, I may not wear makeup, but when I do, it’s this. Fast. Foolproof. Talc-free. Just enough coverage to look alive, and kind enough for my skin to love it back.
