Golden Gate Giggles and Garden Paths

Bay Bound

Golden Gate Park is one of those places where time both slows down and flies by. You go in thinking you’ll do one or two things and suddenly the whole day’s gone and your cheeks hurt from laughing.

We started our day on the pedal boats at Stow Lake, peaceful at first. Birds gliding overhead, ducks trailing behind us, and turtles sunbathing on logs. It was calm.. until it wasn’t. Because somewhere along the way, someone (not naming names) decided pedal boating needed a little more thrill. So we played bumper boats. Don’t recommend it, but also, highly recommend it. Just don’t get caught!

After our lake antics and a lot of giggling, we made our way over to the Botanical Garden. If you’ve never wandered through it, go. It’s like stepping into another world- quiet, blooming, and beautifully curated. We strolled past flowers bursting in color, towering trees, and little hidden corners that made us feel like explorers.

Then came the bison. Yep, real-life bison in the middle of San Francisco. The boys were amazed. And honestly, so was I. Just another reminder of how wild and wonderful this park really is.

We didn’t get to picnic this time, there was just too much to see, but next visit, it’s at the top of our list. Sprawling out on the grass while the kids run free, snacks in hand, soaking in the sunshine sounds pretty perfect to me.

Golden Gate Park provided us with a day filled with laughter, nature, and lasting memories. And the best part? There’s still so much more to explore.
