In a previous post, I shared how I mix Cetaphil and Aquaphor for Mai Boys’ body eczema- on arms, legs, back, and torso. But eyelid eczema is a whole different story. The skin around the eyes is ultra-sensitive and delicate, and even gentle ointments can sting or cause irritation there. That’s why I steer clear of the Cetaphil–Aquaphor blend on my youngest’s eyelids.
Instead, I use Marin Soothing Hydration Cream, and it’s been a game-changer. I apply a tiny amount, (just a raindrop-sized amount onto a Q-tip and gently dab it on his eyelids 2-3x a day. The very next morning, the eczema is gone and he stops complaining about “itchy eyes.”
According to their website, the secret to Marin Cream is its mix of gentle, but powerful ingredients. Its star player is Marine Glycoproteins (a protein from lobster and it’s the same protein that helps them regrow limbs) that help repair skin and lock in moisture. It’s also made with clean and gentle formula, so that’s what makes it safe around the eyes. Best part? The website says many people see relief fast, which I can attest to.
And just to note, I bought our tube directly from Marin Skincare’s website, not Amazon, because that’s where I found the freshest stock and the best information about their ingredients and story.
Again, I’m not a doctor- just a mom sharing real results from products that work for my kids. Eyelid skin is especially delicate, so patch-testing and consulting your pediatrician or dermatologist are always good steps before trying something new. But for us, Marin has been gentle, effective, and almost magical in clearing up that pesky eyelid eczema overnight.
