Yellowstone: Simple Trail & Soft Falls

Montana Memories

Sometimes the most beautiful hikes are the quiet ones- the ones that don’t demand much, but give you just enough. That was Fairy Falls for Mai Family.

The trail was flat, easy, and peaceful, weaving through open forest with views of distant geysers steaming quietly in the background. Compared to the thunder of Ousel Falls, Fairy Falls wasn’t gushing or loud- it was gentle, cascading over the rock face in a steady, graceful way. And that simplicity made the moment feel even more serene.

We found a few big rocks near the base and snacked, taking our time just sitting there, watching the water fall while Mai Boys looked for heart rocks and rocks to skip. It felt grounding in that calm, not a rush to the next thing, just being there, together.

Fairy Falls was a beautiful reminder that not every adventure needs to be wild to be wonderful.
